Commanders Palace
This past summer I spent a month embroidering wall panels to be upholstered onto the walls of the Rockwell Group's redesign of the interior of the venerated Commander's Palace in New Orleans. The custom toile depicting life along the Mississippi was rendered by Silver Hill Atelier on a necessarily flame-retardant synthetic twill. This being the case, I used rayon floss and the candy colors complemented the synthetic sheen of the fabric nicely. While the client loved the work, it should be noted that I was asked to remove the clown noses in the banquet scene.

these are fantastic. they've brought a real smile to my face. :)
isn't it strange when a client doesn't like just one little thing, like the noses? it looks great.
